Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced that Zack Phillips, a Winthrop native, has completed a summer internship in her Washington, D.C., office.

“It is always a pleasure to give Mainers an opportunity to see the legislative process firsthand and to serve the citizens of Maine,” said Senator Collins. “Zack has bravely served our nation in uniform, and his advocacy work on behalf of veterans is truly commendable. I was delighted to have him in my Washington, D.C., office.”

Zack is currently pursuing a Juris Doctorate and Masters in Public Policy from the University of New Hampshire. Upon graduation, he aspires to use his law degree to serve the State of Maine and eventually run for public office.

As a former active duty Major in the Air Force and current member of the Air Force Reserves, Zack cares about helping other veterans in New England and is currently working with a classmate to start a non-profit organization in New Hampshire that helps connect veterans with pro bono legal services.
