U.S. Senator Susan Collins Meets with Dr. Ben Carson in Washington

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins met with Dr. Ben Carson, the President-elect’s nominee to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), in her Washington, D.C., office this afternoon for 50 minutes. Senator Collins chairs the subcommittee that sets HUD’s funding.

“It was a pleasure to sit down with Dr. Ben Carson this afternoon. We had a very interesting discussion on ways we can work together to help spur job creation, improve housing options for low-income families and seniors, and strengthen communities across our country. I look forward to hearing more about Dr. Carson’s ideas at his upcoming Senate confirmation hearing,” said Senator Collins.

The Senate is expected to consider Dr. Carson’s nomination in early January.
