UMF STUDENT WORKS FOR SENATOR COLLINS IN D.C

Washington, DC - Senator Collins today announced that Shawn Roderick of Anson has been awarded an internship in her D.C office. Roderick, a student at University of Maine at Farmington will be assisting the Senator with daily office operations, giving tours of the capital, and assisting with constitution concerns.

"I am glad that I am able to offer students internships in D.C so they can see the day to day operation of a Senate office," said Senator Susan Collins. "Shawn has been a great addition to our office and I know he will be very successful in his future endeavors"

Shawn is a political science major at UMF and became interested in applying for an internship because he wanted to get first hand experience working in our Nation's Capitol. He enjoys working on political campaigns and one day hopes to run for political office. Shawn is going into his senior year at UMF and after graduation plans on staying very active in the political field and would like to some day attend law school.
