Washington, D.C.—U.S. Senator Susan Collins will deliver remarks and participate in a panel discussion today at the Biomedical Innovation Summit, which will be hosted by the Maine Medical Center Research Institute. Panelists will discuss some of the promising biomedical research that is currently being conducted by Maine scientists.
Increasing investment in biomedical research is one of Senator Collins’ top priorities. Senator Collins advocated strongly for the $2 billion increase in funding for the National Institutes of Health that was included in the FY 2016 funding bill, the largest increase for NIH funding since 2003.
