WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King this evening attended the “Taste of Maine” reception hosted by the Maine State Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. The event, held in the historic Kennedy Caucus Room, attracted several Senators from other states including New York, Hawaii, Montana, Indiana, and Tennessee, as well Mainers living in Washington.
Some of the items served tonight included Maine's world-famous products, like lobster, blueberries, potatoes, wine, beer and spirits, chocolates, and the original Whoopie Pie.
“We are delighted that the Maine State Chamber of Commerce has once again organized some of Maine's finest culinary treasures,” said Senators Collins and King in a joint statement. “We hope everyone came away thinking that Maine truly is the way life should be!”
“Mainers take a great deal of pride in ‘Made in Maine’ products and the Maine State Chamber of Commerce is always eager to help get the word out about the abundance of our great state; from our farms to the ocean, to our restaurants and breweries,” said Dana Connors, President of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce. “This year’s ‘Taste of Maine’ reception was once again a huge success, and we look forward to hosting this event on Capitol Hill again.”
