Statement of Senator Susan Collins on the Passing of Merton Henry

Bangor, ME - U.S. Senator Susan Collins issued the following statement on the passing of Merton Henry.  Mr. Henry chaired all of Senator Collins’ Senate campaigns.

“Mert was a wonderful friend to my husband Tom and me for decades.  In addition to being a tremendous lawyer, Mert worked tirelessly for countless civic and philanthropic causes and was a wise counselor to many of us who served in public office. 

“Mert and his beloved wife Harriet represented what is best about Maine, and we consider ourselves fortunate to have known them.  We are deeply saddened by Mert’s passing and will miss him.  We offer our heartfelt condolences to his children Doug, Don, and Martha.”
