SNOWE, COLLINS ANNOUNCE MORE THAN $200,000 FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Senators Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and Susan Collins (R-ME) today announced $208,761 in federal funding to the Town of Thomaston from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Economic Development Initiative (EDI). This funding will assist in the construction of a sidewalk in the business district. "This funding is critical to the revitalization of Maine's business district atmosphere." Snowe and Collins said in a joint statement. The Economic Development Initiative (EDI) authorizes discretionary grant funding that helps to improve community development. The EDI recognizes the extraordinarily diverse range of economic and community development needs among the nation''s individual communities.
