Washington, D.C. – Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins today announced that the Northern Maine Regional Airport at Presque Isle will receive a $28,500 grant to rehabilitate the runways and taxiways. The funding is awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration.

"The Presque Isle airport is a vital gateway to Northern Maine for business and tourism. It also provides an important and necessary service for County residents and passengers from Canada," said the Senators in a joint statement.

The Northern Maine Regional Airport has two operating runways, including the second longest commercial runway in Maine. The airport accommodates commercial, corporate, and private flights.
