SNOWE, COLLINS ANNOUNCE $168,223 IN FUNDING TO THE PASSAMAQUODDY TRIBE

WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Senators Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and Susan Collins (R-ME) today announced that the Administration on Children, Youth, and Families Head Start Bureau which is a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded the Passamaquoddy Tribe on the Pleasant Point Reservation in Calais $168,223 in funding for a Head Start full year/part day teacher and teaching assistant. "This critical funding will allow the school on the Pleasant Point Reservation to hire two more staff members and give its students more individualized attention," Snowe and Collins said in a joint statement.

The Administration on Children, Youth, and Families administers the major Federal programs that promote the economic and social well-being of families, children, individuals, and communities.
