SNOWE AND COLLINS ANNOUNCE $300,000 FOR THE MAINE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES

  U.S. Senators Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins announced today the Maine Department of Health and Human Services has been awarded a grant of $300,000 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as part of the Alzheimer’s Disease Demonstration Grants to States program.  The funding will be used to assist the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease in the rural areas of Maine.   “This funding will greatly benefit those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and their families,” noted Senators Snowe and Collins in a joint statement.  “Over 30,000 Mainers currently suffer from Alzheimer’s.  This funding will provide them with better treatment and remove some of the burden placed on their families.”   ###
