SENATORS SNOWE, COLLINS ANNOUNCE $8,700 FOR SOUTHERN AROOSTOOK AGRICULTURAL MUSEUM

U.S. Senators Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development program has awarded $8,700 in grant funding to the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum in Littleton. The funding will be used to install a new heating system in the museum.

"The Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum showcases the County's proud agricultural heritage, and this funding will help finance the replacement of the museum's aging steam radiators with a new system that does not have the potential to damage the museum's artifacts and displays," said Senators Snowe and Collins. "We are pleased that USDA continues to recognize the importance of supporting community projects in Maine's rural areas."

USDA's Community Facilities Grant Program provides grants to assist in the development of essential community facilities in rural areas and towns of up to 20,000 in population. Grant funds can be used to construct, enlarge, or improve community facilities for health care, public safety, and community and public services.
