SENATORS COLLINS AND SNOWE ANNOUNCE $1.5 MILLION IN LOAN FUNDING FOR THE TOWN OF BUCKSPORT

                U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Olympia J. Snowe announced today that the Town of Bucksport in Hancock County will receive a loan of $1,500,000 for an infrastructure improvement project.  These USDA Rural Development funds help promote economic development in rural areas throughout the country.               “The Rural Development’s contributions are essential to the improvement of Maine’s community infrastructure," said the Senators in a joint statement.  “We are pleased to learn that the Bucksport Regional Health Center will receive the funds necessary to upgrade its facilities and better serve the citizens of Hancock County."              The loan will provide funding for upgrades to the Bucksport Regional Health Center, including the construction of a 6,500 square foot, two story addition onto the existing center.  More than 21,000 citizens will be served by this project.   ###
