Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced that Sawyer McFadden, a Scarborough native, has been awarded a fellowship in her Washington, D.C., office. Sawyer is a graduate of Scarborough High School.
"I am delighted to welcome Sawyer to my Washington, D.C., office," said Senator Collins. "Sawyer has an excellent work ethic, and I am pleased that she will have the opportunity to see the legislative process firsthand as well as serve her fellow Mainers."
Sawyer graduated from Emmanuel College, where she majored in Political Science with minors in Statistics and Political Communication. On campus, she was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha—the National Political Science Honor Society. Sawyer hopes to continue working in the public policy field.
Maine students who are interested in applying for future sessions of the internship program can do so through Senator Collins’ website at: https://www.collins.senate.gov/services/students.
