WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senator Susan Collins is pleased to announce that Jamie Carter, a Portland native, has been awarded a summer internship in her Portland state office.
“Jamie’s academic profile and strong work ethic will be a great asset to my Portland office,” said Senator Collins. “Employing a student intern that was raised in Portland is especially important in meeting the needs of Cumberland County residents. As always, I am delighted to provide Maine students with an opportunity to become actively involved in the legislative process.”
Carter, the daughter of Richard and Betsy Carter, is a 2005 graduate of Deering High School. This fall, she will enter her sophomore year at The Catholic University of America where is majoring in political science.
Carter says she looks forward to assisting Senator Collins’ staff in serving the citizens of Maine.
