Senator Collins Welcomes Portland Native to Her Washington, D.C. Office

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced that Maggie Denekas, a Portland native, has been awarded a fall internship in her Washington, D.C., office. Maggie is the daughter of Betsy Pelikan and Craig Denekas of Portland. 

“It is always a pleasure to introduce Mainers to the nation’s capital and the legislative process, as well as give them an opportunity to serve the citizens of Maine,” said Senator Collins. “Maggie is a hard worker, and I am delighted to welcome her to my Washington, D.C., office.”

Maggie is first year student at American University in Washington, D.C., where she intends to study Environmental Science.
