Windham, ME—U.S. Senator Susan Collins delivered remarks at a naturalization ceremony hosted by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 148 in Windham this morning.  The event, which was coordinated by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, took place at the Windham Veterans Center.

"To be an American, whether by birth or by choice, is a precious gift,” said Senator Collins during her remarks.  “As citizens of this good nation, we can all be proud of our heritage and confident in our future. We Americans will always stand together to do what is right, and to lend a hand to those in need.  It is an honor to welcome these new citizens to this great cause, and I congratulate you all.”

Approximately 150 immigrants and their families, Windham officials, state representatives and senators, American Legion members, VFW members, and guests attended the ceremony.
