Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins met with approximately 40 students, parents, and teachers from Mountain Valley High School who recently visited Washington, D.C., as part of a class trip.

“I was delighted to welcome these students from Mountain Valley High School to our nation’s capital,” said Senator Collins.  “I enjoyed speaking with these bright Maine students about my work and answering their questions about the legislative process and the daily responsibilities of a U.S. Senator.  D.C. offers countless educational opportunities, and I am glad that these students had the chance to experience them firsthand.”

During their visit, the Mountain Valley High School students toured the U.S. Capitol building, explored numerous Smithsonian museums, and walked along the National Mall to visit the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and the World War II Memorial.
