Senator Collins Welcomes Lewiston Native to Senate Page Program

Washington, D.C.—U.S. Senator Susan Collins welcomed Lewiston native Amanda (Mandi) Alberda to Washington, D.C., as she begins the 2016 spring semester in the United Sates Senate Page Program.  Mandi was nominated to the program by Senator Collins following a competitive selection process.  Mandi is the daughter of Pete and Barbara Alberda and is currently a junior at Lewiston High School.

“I am delighted to welcome Mandi to our nation’s capital,” said Senator Collins. “Mandi is a highly motivated student with an impressive record of academic achievement and involvement in extracurricular activities.  I am pleased that she will have this unique opportunity to become intimately familiar with how Congress operates.”

Mandi is a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and placed first in the state’s competition for Introduction to Business Communications.  She is also a member of the Civil Rights Club, Lewiston Youth Advisory Council, Secretary of her Class Board, and Vice President of the Lewiston High School Student Council.  Amanda hopes to attend Georgetown University to study International Relations.
