Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced that Lila Harakles, a Kennebunk native, has been awarded a spring internship in her Washington, D.C., office.  Lila is a 2018 graduate of Kennebunk High School and is the daughter of Rachel Chaisson of Scarborough and Scott Harakles of Kennebunk.

“Lila has a strong work ethic and is a terrific student, and I am delighted to welcome her to my D.C. office,” said Senator Collins.  “I always enjoy giving students the opportunity to become actively involved in the legislative process and to serve the citizens of Maine.”

Lila is a sophomore at the University of Maine at Orono, where she is studying political science and philosophy. After graduation, she plans to attend law school before pursuing a career in public service.
