Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced that Tessa Solomon, a Houlton native, has been awarded a spring internship in her Washington, D.C., office. Tessa is the daughter of Jonathan Solomon and Jaime Grass.
“I am delighted to welcome Tessa to my Washington, D.C., office,” said Senator Collins. “Tessa demonstrated impressive leadership skills in the classroom, and I am pleased that she will have the opportunity to see the legislative process firsthand as well as serve her fellow Mainers.”
Tessa is currently a junior at the University of Maine, where she is majoring in political science with a double minor in business administration and leadership. She has served as a senator in UMaine’s Student Government; vice president for her sorority, Chi Omega; and a member of University Singers and UMaine Renaissance. She is a founding member of Chi Omega National’s DEI committee. In addition to this, she was a published writer and speaker for DEI initiatives and leadership with the Olympia Snowe Women's Leadership Institute and UMaine. After graduation, she intends to continue her work with the Olympia Snowe Women's Leadership Institute.
