Bangor, ME. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced that Steffi Victoria, a resident of Dover-Foxcroft, has been awarded a fall internship in her Bangor Constituent Services Center. Steffi is an alumna of Foxcroft Academy.
“Steffi has demonstrated impressive leadership skills in the classroom and through her extracurricular activities,” said Senator Collins. “I am delighted to have her as an intern in my Bangor office. I know that this experience serving her fellow Mainers will help Steffi achieve her commendable goal to become an immigration attorney.”
Steffi emigrated from India when she was eight years old, and she has been a U.S. citizen since 2020. She first met Senator Collins during the UMaine Cohen Institute Summer Program’s Washington, D.C., trip earlier this year.
Currently, Steffi is a junior at the University of Maine in Orono, majoring in political science and minoring in leadership studies. Outside of academics, Steffi volunteers at the Bangor PCHC Hope House Health and Living Center. After graduation, Steffi aspires to be a pro-bono immigration attorney to support Afghan allies, Ukrainians, and future asylum seekers.
Maine students who are interested in applying for future sessions of the internship program can do so through Senator Collins’ website at: https://www.collins.senate.gov/services/students
