Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins met with a group of 12 students from Damariscotta Montessori School who were visiting Washington, D.C., as part of a class trip.

“It is always a pleasure to welcome Maine students to our nation’s capital,” said Senator Collins.  “I am glad that these bright students from Damariscotta Montessori School had the chance to take advantage of the countless educational opportunities in D.C.  I encourage Maine students to believe in themselves and never give up.  They have the opportunity to be the future community, business, and elected leaders of our state.”

The trip by Damariscotta Montessori School allows the students to tour the U.S. Capitol building as well as other points of interest in Washington, D.C.
