Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins met with a group of 10 students from Cheverus High School who visited Washington, D.C., to attend the 2019 Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice Conference.

“One of the best parts of serving as Maine’s U.S. Senator is meeting all of the great people, including the students, who make our state such a special place,” said Senator Collins.  “Students in Maine and across the country should always believe in themselves and never give up.  These Cheverus students have the opportunity to be the future community, business, and elected leaders of our state.”

In addition to their meeting with Senator Collins, the students from Cheverus High School went on a tour of the U.S. Capitol and visited other points of interest throughout D.C.

The Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice Conference is an annual gathering of various Jesuit institutions from all over the country to support social justice and solidarity as well as learn, reflect, pray, network, and advocate together.
