Senator Collins Welcomes Cherryfield Native as Summer Intern

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced that Lydia DeSchiffart, a Cherryfield native, has been awarded a summer internship in her Washington, D.C., office. Lydia is a graduate of Narraguagus High School in Harrington.

“I always enjoy giving Maine students the opportunity to become actively involved in the legislative process and to serve the people of Maine,” said Senator Collins. “Lydia has an impressive academic record, and I am delighted to welcome her to my Washington, D.C., office.”

Lydia is a rising sophomore at Carnegie Mellon University, where she is majoring in psychology. Upon graduation, Lydia plans to continue her education and pursue a joint law and social work degree.
