Otisfield, ME — U.S. Senator Susan Collins visited campers at Seeds of Peace Camp in Otisfield.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Seeds of Peace, a camp founded by author and journalist John Wallach. The camp's mission is to bring together young people of different racial, religious, political, and socioeconomic backgrounds to participate in community-building, dialogue, and leadership development.

“Throughout my visit to Seeds of Peace Camp, I witnessed bright young minds and genuine enthusiasm for finding common ground," Senator Collins said. “The organization's commitment to empowering young people and fostering understanding between communities is truly commendable, and I am inspired by the positive impact they are making on the next generation of leaders."

Over the past three decades, the camp has successfully graduated approximately 8,000 teenagers. These graduates return home equipped with a deeper understanding of the challenges their communities face and gain valuable insights into effective ways to address these issues.
