SENATOR COLLINS SUPPORTS PASSAGE OF TRANSPORTATION BILL

Today, Senator Susan Collins, who is Ranking Member of the Senate Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee, voted to support final passage of a two-year surface transportation reauthorization bill. This legislation reauthorizes the nation’s surface transportation programs at current funding levels.

“I support a robust investment in transportation infrastructure, both in Maine and throughout the nation,” said Senator Collins. “As Ranking Member of the Senate Transportation Appropriations Subcommittee, I know well the positive effects of investing in our nation’s aging infrastructure. This investment not only repairs crumbling roads and bridges allowing the critical flow of goods and services, but also boosts the economy and creates much-needed jobs. This two-year reauthorization will provide states with the certainty they need to plan vital investments and repairs of our roads and bridges.”
