Senator Collins’ Statement on Passing of Former Senator Orrin Hatch

Bangor, ME—U.S. Senator Susan Collins issued this statement on the passing of former Utah Senator Orrin Hatch:

“Orrin Hatch was a valued colleague and a dear friend.  When I was a new Senator, Orrin asked me to work with him on the Children’s Health Insurance Program, which has since provided health care for millions of children in low-income families. 

“In addition to his legislative accomplishments, Orrin was known for his love of music and his family.  My heart goes out to his wife Elaine and their six children. 

“Rest In Peace, my friend.”
