Senator Collins’ Statement on Appointment of New EMCC President

Washington, D.C.—U.S. Senator Susan Collins issued this statement congratulating Liz Russell on being appointed president of Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC), effective June 1:

“I am delighted that Liz Russell has been chosen to be the new president of Eastern Maine Community College.  She is a great choice,” said Senator Collins.  “A native of Lincoln, Maine, Liz has dedicated herself to the college for 28 years.  Her commitment to EMCC‘s students is unsurpassed, and she understands well every aspect of the college’s mission.”

Ms. Russell is currently vice president of academic affairs and has held multiple senior leadership positions at EMCC since joining the college in 1994.
