Senator Collins Speaks at Cumberland Fair

Cumberland, ME – U.S. Senator Susan Collins spoke at a ribbon cutting for the new Cumberland – North Yarmouth Lions Club booth at the 151^st Cumberland Fair. Following the ribbon cutting, Senator Collins joined members of the Cumberland Farmers Club for a tour of the fairgrounds. 

“It was wonderful to visit the Cumberland Fair and to hear about all the terrific work the Cumberland – North Yarmouth Lions Club is doing to better the community,” said Senator Collins. “Maine’s local fairs are a great opportunity to enjoy our state's rich traditions, culture, and community spirit, and I urge all those who can to visit the Cumberland Fair in the coming week."

Since 1961, the Cumberland – North Yarmouth Lions Club has served the two communities by providing eyeglass service, sponsoring scholarships, supporting local scout troops, the local Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels, among many other charitable endeavors in the area.
