SENATOR COLLINS SECURES $2.9 MILLION FOR RANGELEY LAKES NATIONAL SCENIC BYWAY

U.S. Senator Susan Collins, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced today that she has successfully secured nearly $7 million for Maine programs in the FY 2010 Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations Bill. Included in this funding is $2.9 million for infrastructure improvements on the Rangeley Lakes National Scenic Byway.

"The Rangeley Lakes National Scenic Byway helps us preserve and enjoy our pristine landscapes and treasured natural resources," said Senator Collins. "I am delighted to have worked to successfully secure this funding."

The FY 2010 Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations Bill was approved today by the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development. It is now scheduled to be considered by the full Senate Appropriations Committee on Thursday.
