SENATOR COLLINS RELEASES STATEMENT ON DEATH OF ABU MUSAB AL-ZARQAWI

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senator Susan Collins, Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement regarding the death of terrorist Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi.               “The death of Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, is a major victory in the global war on terrorism and an important step in the stabilization of Iraq.  American and coalition troops, as well as Iraqi security forces, are to be commended for their courage and dedication.  I especially want to praise our nation’s intelligence community that has worked tirelessly and whose dedication led our forces to one of the most wanted terrorists in the world.”
