SENATOR COLLINS RECOGNIZED FOR DENTAL EDUCATION EFFORTS

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Susan Collins was recently named as an honorary member of the American Dental Education Association. The Association, which represents dental schools, awarded Senator Collins this honor because of the Senator's diligent work to improve access to dental care, particularly in the nation's rural and underserved areas.

"I am privileged to be named an honorary member of the American Dental Education Association," Senator Collins said. "Providing dental care to rural communities is a major concern in Maine and I thank this Association for bringing attention to this critical issue."

Senator Collins sponsored the Dental Health Improvement Act, which authorized funds for a new grant program to help states develop innovative dental workforce development programs specific to their individual needs.
