SENATOR COLLINS READS TO STUDENTS AT LONG ISLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

WASHINGTON, D.C.—On Wednesday, May 31, Senator Susan Collins visited Long Island to read to students at Long Island Elementary School.  Senator Collins read “Antlers Forever.”  “Antlers Forever” is an entertaining and educational story, written by Bath author Frances Bloxam, about the adventures of Orville Anderson Tarkington Moose.  During her visit, Senator Collins also spent time meeting with the parents of the school’s 14 students, and other community members.               Since taking office in 1997, Senator Collins has visited 141 Maine schools to encourage students to read.
