SENATOR COLLINS MOURNS DEATH OF SOLDIER FROM MAINE

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senator Susan Collins today released this statement following the death of Army Specialist Dustin Harris of Patten.  Specialist Harris, who was 21 years old, died April 6, 2006 in Bayji, Iraq after being injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near his patrol.  Specialist Harris was assigned to the 172nd Brigade Support Battalion, Fort Wainwright, Alaska.  His parents live in Patten.               “I am truly saddened to learn of the death of Specialist Dustin Harris.  Specialist Harris was dutifully serving his country when he was killed and we honor his sacrifice in his dedication to serve his country and defend freedom across the world.”
