Senator Collins Meets Westbrook Native Jon Brockway, Congratulates Him on Being Named a Captain of America’s Road Team

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Susan Collins congratulated Jon Brockway of Westbrook, a professional truck driver for Walmart Transportation, on being named a Captain of the American Trucking Association’s (ATA) America’s Road Team, a public outreach program that educates the public about highway safety. Senator Collins met with Jon in her Washington, D.C., office.

“I was delighted to meet with Jon and congratulate him on being selected for this prestigious role to serve as a Captain of America’s Road Team,” said Senator Collins. “Jon has achieved an impressive record during the three decades he has worked as a professional truck driver, and I am pleased that his commitment to safety is being recognized.”

Jon has been a professional truck driver for 30 years and has accumulated more than 2.5 million accident-free miles. He is a member of the Walmart Road Team and is a recipient of the Walmart Transportation 1 Million Safe Miles Award. He was the Maine Motor Carriers Association Driver of the Month in March of 2013 and was the Lewiston Walmart Driver of the Year in 2013. Jon is a new hire trainer and mentor and two-time winner of his local truck driving championship.
