Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins recently met with Special Olympics Athlete Angelica Bennett and her mother and coach, Michelle Bennett, both of Waterboro, in her Washington, D.C., office.  They visited our nation’s capital for the Special Olympics International Capitol Hill Day.

“Angelica Bennett is a 19-year veteran of Special Olympics. She competes in Track & Field events and recently took up bocce,” said Senator Collins. “She came to Washington to advocate on behalf of Special Olympics and Unified Champion Schools, two causes I’m proud to support. It was a joy to meet with Angelica, and I wish her all the best with her continued competitions!”
