SENATOR COLLINS MEETS WITH HUMANE SOCIETY OFFICIALS

Recognizing her as a leader when it comes to protecting animals, Wayne Pacelle, President of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and Michael Markarian, Executive Director, met with U.S. Senator Susan Collins to discuss legislation that is likely to be introduced during the 111th Congress to better protect animals.

"I was pleased to meet with officials from the Humane Society of the United States and discuss ways we can work together to continue to lead the fight for public humane laws that halt cruelty and abuse of animals," said Senator Collins.

HSUS has 53,503 members in Maine and over 10.6 million nationally.
