Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Susan Collins met with Chief of Penobscot Indian Nation Kirk Francis this afternoon to discuss issues concerning tribal members.

“It’s always a pleasure to meet with Chief Francis,” said Senator Collins. “We had a very productive discussion on ways we can work together, especially to help prevent and treat diabetes and enhance tribal police training for the Penobscot Indian Nation of Maine.”

Chief Francis has been the elected Chief at Penobscot Indian Nation for more than nine years, making him the longest serving Chief since 1850.
