Senator Collins Meets with Admiral John Richardson, the 31st Chief of Naval Operations

WASHINGTON, D.C.— U.S. Senator Susan Collins, a senior member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, recently met with Admiral John Richardson in her Washington office.
 
      “It was a pleasure to congratulate Admiral John Richardson and express my support for him as the Navy’s newest Chief of Naval Operations. We discussed Maine’s proud history of strong support for the Navy. From the men and women at Bath Iron Works who build Navy destroyers, to the employees at Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard who help repair and maintain our Navy submarines, Mainers are absolutely dedicated to their missions and take great pride in supporting our Navy,”Senator Collins stated.
 
      “Admiral Richardson and I share a strong commitment to our United States Navy, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him to ensure that our Navy and our sailors are properly resourced and able to execute their critical missions around the world,” Senator Collins continued.
 
      Admiral Richardson previously served as the Director of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. He was confirmed as CNO by the Senate on September 18, 2015. Admiral Richardson attended York High School in York, Maine.
