Waterford, ME – Today, U.S. Senator Susan Collins hosted a luncheon to honor State Representative Sawin Millett for his decades of service to the State of Maine. The event was attended by more than 50 community leaders from throughout the state.
“Sawin’s nine non-consecutive terms representing Maine House District 81, which began 56 years ago, only scratch the surface of his remarkable resume,” said Senator Collins. “In Waterford and throughout Oxford County, he contributed to his community as a teacher, coach, principal, assistant school superintendent, farmer, and town manager. I was delighted to celebrate Sawin with so many friends and admirers. He is a great leader, a dedicated public servant, and a Maine treasure.”
During the event, Senator Collins presented Representative Millett with a copy of the statement she submitted to the Congressional Record recognizing his decades of accomplishments and contributions to Maine.
