Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced that James Erwin, a Yarmouth native, has been hired as a staff assistant in her Washington, D.C., office.  James recently completed his fall internship in Senator Collins’ D.C. office and also served as a summer intern in her D.C. and Portland offices.  James is the son of James and Eileen Erwin of Yarmouth.

“James is a hard worker and provided invaluable assistance to the office and to constituents as a fall intern,” said Senator Collins. “I am delighted to welcome him to my Washington, D.C., office, where he will continue to serve the citizens of Maine.”

James graduated from Bates College in May 2018, where he majored in History and Rhetoric.  He served as President of College Republicans and the compliance director for the Bates College radio station, WRBC.  James was also a member of the Robinson Players Drama Club and the college choir.  James will work on the Senate Aging Committee, which Senator Collins chairs.
