Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced that Kelsey Hayes, a Pittsfield native, has been hired as a staff assistant in her Washington, D.C., office.  Kelsey is the daughter of Robert and Danielle Hayes of Pittsfield.  She previously served as a fall intern in Senator Collins’ D.C. office and a summer intern in the Senator’s Bangor office in 2017.

“Kelsey is a hard worker and has already provided invaluable assistance to the office and to Mainers through her internships,” said Senator Collins. “I am delighted that she will continue to serve the citizens of Maine as a member of my staff.”

Kelsey graduated magna cum laude from Emory University in May 2018, where she majored in International Studies and English.  She was elected to the Pi Sigma Alpha Honors Society and the Alpha Epsilon Upsilon Honors Society.  Kelsey will assist with front office duties including managing Capitol and White House tours and fielding constituents’ requests.
