Senator Collins Hires Augusta Native to Her Washington, D.C., Office

Washington, D.C. -U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced today that Cameron O’Brien, an Augusta native, has been hired as a Legislative Assistant in her Washington, D.C., office. Cameron is the son of Mark and Julie O’Brien of Augusta. He previously served as an intern in Senator Collins’ Augusta and Bangor offices and as a Legislative Correspondent in Senator Collins’ D.C. office.

“As a former intern and Legislative Correspondent in my office, Cameron demonstrated a strong work ethic, a deep understanding of the legislative process, and a devotion to the State of Maine that made him a valuable member of my team,” said Senator Collins. “I am delighted to welcome Cameron back to my staff, where I know he will continue to work hard to serve his fellow Mainers.”

 

As a Legislative Assistant, Cameron will work on policy matters pertaining to agriculture, forestry, fisheries, science, transportation, and infrastructure.

 

Cameron graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Pi Sigma Alpha from the Honors College at the University of Maine at Orono, where he majored in political science.
