SENATOR COLLINS GREETS MAINE HIGH SCHOOL ESSAY CONTEST WINNER

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senator Susan Collins was pleased to greet Joseph Vining of Poland during his recent visit to Washington, D.C.  Vining, a student at St. Dominic Regional High School in Auburn, composed the winning essay for the State of Maine in a contest sponsored by the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America.  The contest is a major project of The Society held under the auspices of the Washington Workshops Foundation, a private nonprofit educational program in American government for high school students.  Winners, including Vining, were in Washington for a week of citizenship education about the national government.
