Poland, ME – Last night, U.S. Senator Susan Collins, the Vice Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, delivered the keynote address via Zoom at the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce’s 44th awards dinner held at Poland Spring Resort in Poland. Nearly 200 community members were in attendance for the event. Senator Collins was not able to attend in person, as she continues to work in Washington to avert a government shutdown.

“At this very moment, there are many of us in Washington working night and day to prevent a disastrous shutdown, and I am committed to working with all of my colleagues to ensure we do not waste taxpayer’s money needlessly grinding government to a halt,” said Senator Collins. “Nevertheless, let me offer my congratulations to those you honor tonight. The contributions of all of the honorees are why this is such a great place to live, to work, and to visit.”

Senator Collins congratulated the following Chamber award winners:

  • Legacy Award – Al Bancroft
  • Business of the Year – Bennett Radio Group
  • Suzanne Grover Community Service Award – Pink Feather Foundation
  • Rising Star of the Year – Norway Candle Company

The Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce has a membership of more than 400 businesses and organizations, and serves 11 towns in the Oxford Hills region of Western Maine: Buckfield, Harrison, Hartford, Hebron, Mechanic Falls, Norway, Otisfield, Oxford, Paris, Poland, Sumner, Waterford, and West Paris.
