Waterville, ME – U.S. Senator Susan Collins delivered the commencement address at Colby College last weekend.  Approximately 480 students from 29 states and 43 countries were honored at Colby College’s 197th commencement.

“Colby College and the City of Waterville prove that it is within our power to rekindle a spirit of community,” said Senator Collins during her remarks.  “Your education and the partnership you have helped forge demonstrate that, among people of good will, our strength is the sum of our similarities as well as our differences.

“So, my challenge to you graduates is to spread that message wherever the future takes you.  Whether the next phase of your life keeps you in Maine – a choice I heartily endorse – or to another state or country, you can help to restore the sense of community that makes life enriching and ennobling for all.”

Senator Collins received an honorary degree from Colby College in 2014.
