SENATOR COLLINS CONGRATULATES CARIBOU FOR EPA AWARD

WASHINGTON, DC- Senator Susan Collins today announced the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has selected the Caribou Maine Utilities District for a New England Regional Operations and Maintenance Wastewater Excellence Award. The Plant won in the medium secondary plant category and was one of six facilities recognized in the New England Area.

"The individuals operating the Caribou Utilities District play an important role in ensuring Maine's water reservoirs stay protected from pollution," Senator Collins said. "It is an honor to recognize Caribou for their efforts in keeping our environment safe and clean."

The EPA Regional Operations and Maintenance Excellence Award was established to recognize staffs of Public owned wastewater treatment facilities for their commitment to improving water quality with outstanding operation and maintenance, often times with limited resources.
