U.S. Senator Susan Collins today praised Mary McAleney, District Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Maine District Office, who has announced that she will retire from her position on June 30, 2007. McAleney was named SBA’s District Director in July 1998. Prior to joining the SBA, McAleney worked for U.S. Senator George Mitchell.
“Mary has dedicated herself to a life of public service. She has been a true professional throughout. Thanks to her hard work and leadership at the SBA, many Mainers now have growing and thriving businesses in our great state. She will be missed,” said Senator Collins, who served as New England Administrator of the SBA from 1992 to 1993.
