WASHINGTON, D.C.— U.S. Senator Susan Collins was invited to attend a signing ceremony at the White House this morning as President Barack Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act into law. Last week, Senator Collins was one of five Republican lawmakers who voted in favor of this legislation to give workers more time to make pay discrimination complaints.
Senator Collins will join the President, First Lady Michelle Obama, and other lawmakers who are scheduled to attend today’s ceremony.
