Waldoboro, ME — U.S. Senator Susan Collins marched in Waldoboro’s 250th Anniversary Parade as the town celebrated its sestercentennial birthday.
“Rain or shine, it was a pleasure to celebrate Waldoboro’s 250th birthday. Founded in 1773, decades before Maine was officially a state, Waldoboro has a proud shipbuilding, agricultural, and fishing history,” said Senator Collins. “I enjoyed marching in the parade and visiting with so many Mainers who make this town such a wonderful community.”
Waldoboro was incorporated as a town in 1773 after 30 years of permanent settlement, according to a pictorial history book developed for the anniversary by the Waldoboro Sestercentennial Committee.
